Michael Birch

Michael is Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Huon Capital which was founded in 2009. Michael has working in the Australian financial services industry since 1995 as both a fund manager and stock broker for established multinational organisations and start ups. Michael worked as a research analyst with both Macquarie Bank and UBS Australia in Australia prior to co-founding a boutique hedge fund manager in 2002. Upon leaving the hedge fund in 2008 Michael established a financial consulting business and advised financial services companies on matters including; portfolio management, option strategies, distressed debt work-outs and corporate strategy. Michael also has had both listed company and unlisted company board experience.

Tino Widarma

Tino Widarma is the Research Director at Huon Capital.  His responsibilities include both quantitative and fundamental company research.  Prior to this he held various quantitative and analytical roles with Sydney based fund manager, Wallace Funds Management and Deutsche Bank.  He started his career in 1996 as Management Associate with Citibank Global Consumer Banking Jakarta, Indonesia.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Industrial Management form Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, USA.

Vincent Parrott – Non Executive Director - Huon Capital / Head of Funds Management - Diversa

Vincent brings significant funds management experience to Huon Capital having worked in leadership roles within the institutional funds management sector for AMP, SBC (now UBS Global Asset Management) and BT Funds Management. Vincent has experience in the development of funds management businesses having held executive positions in investment management, sales and marketing, operations, and general management over a 25 year career in the industry. In 2001 he co-founded boutique asset manager Souls Funds Management where he served as Managing Director from 2001 to 2008, during which time funds under management and advice in both large cap and small cap Australian equities grew to $1 billion.

Angus Craig – Company Secretary

Mr Craig has extensive corporate, financial and stock exchange experience, most recently as Company Secretary and Finance Manager for Virotec International plc, a company listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange and formerly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange where he has been for the last 6 years. Prior to that Angus was a Senior Companies Officer with the Australian Stock Exchange for 6 years. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is an Affiliate of Chartered Secretaries Australia.

Kerry Clough - Accountant

Kerry prepares the financial statements for Huon Capital.  

In addition, we have a team of external service providers including IT support, programmers and share office infrastructure.
